We picked up the inaugral TRUK Listens Shield after an excellent performance against Leftfooters at Walton Xcel Centre. With 7 players in the squad making their debuts it was always going to be a tough task and we found ourselves 1-0 down within 5 minutes as the footers forward finished well. We did however create a few chances and got a deserved equaliser when the impressive Oscar Kelly beat the keeper to the ball and was brought down. Oscar dusted himself off and rolled the ball into the bottom corner to draw us level which is how we went in at the break.
We came out for the second half full of hope and with the wind at our backs and Paddy put us ahead with a great finish and from that point on there only looked like winner and Nicky Currall then helped himself to a hat trick to see us home and be the first team to lift the Shield.
