What a year 2023 has been for us both on and off the pitch! We are so humbled with everything we have achieved of the pitch in this calendar year that we thought we have to share it all with you!

The year started with us being named as one of Big Issues top 100 changemakers for 2023 which was a massive honour for us and something we are very proud of but this was just the beginning on what was going to be an amazing year for TRUK United off the pitch!

A trip to Manchester early in the year saw us named as the LGBTQ+ Sports team of the year at the inaugural Gaydio awards. We were so delighted to win this award and we had the most amazing night as we celebrated this award.

We then headed to Manchester again and this time for the Football V Homophobia awards and we were stunned to win the Grassroots team of the year award and again we had another brilliant night.

Next up was a night in London and this time again we were shocked to be Shortlisted for the Rainbow Honours Award for the Community Initiative award. Sadly we didn’t win but it was a great honour to have been shortlisted alongside some amazing organisations at the fabulous National History Museum.

We also received a nomination for the National Diversity Awards for Community Organisation but we didn’t make the Shortlist however TRUK United Founder Lucy Clark made the shortlist for Positive LGBTQ Role model which was amazing considering there were 90k nominations.

Following our historic football match in March where we fielded the first team solely of Trans Masc people we were shortlisted for the Good News award at the Pink News Awards in London and when Rylan Clark announced us as the winners we received the biggest cheer of the night! With quite a few of the team in attendance we again had an amazing night as we celebrated our achievement.

We ended the year at the Trans in the City awards as we found ourselves shortlisted in the Trans inclusive organisation category. We didn’t win this time but it was a great honour to be shortlisted. Our very own Lucy Clark however was successful as she won the Trans Community Champion award for 2023.

Lastly TRUK United FC were named Team of the year in the Out and Out Football Awards which was the icing on the cake for what has been an amazing year for TRUK United and all those involved.
