TRUK kicked off their Goalposts league campaign with a 10-3 victory over the hard working Ex Girlfriend FC who yet again gave TRUK a tough match on a cold night in East London. Lucy Copsey continued where she left off as she bagged the opening goal with a great left footed strike into the bottom corner but TRUK had to dig deep to keep the score at one nil as Ex Girlfriend knocked the ball about and Lucy Clark blocked a couple of shots that would have troubled Heather in the TRUK Goal. Lucy managed to bag another 3 goals with some excellent finishing and was also unlucky when she saw a shot bounce of both posts…thankfully it fell to Maysa who finished well. At the other end Heather made a couple of good saves and Ex Girlfriend also had a couple of efforts that narrowly missed the target. Half time it was 5-0
The 2nd half saw TRUK score 5 more with Lucy Copsey grabbing another 3 and Orlagh opened her account with a toe punt and Lucy Clark stuck a penalty away for the 10th goal. Ex Girlfriend however scored 3 second half goals with some fantastic finishing and if it wasn’t for some great saves from Heather they could have scored more.
It finished 10-3 to TRUK and we were pleased to get 3 points on the board.
