Truk ended their season 2 campaign with a 5-0 victory over an excellent Ex-Girlfriend FC but it was not enough to dislodge Stonewall and we had to settle for runners up spot…..

Starting the match knowing that we needed to win to have any chance of taking top spot we struggled against an excellent and well organised Ex-Girlfriend FC and yet again we found a GK who put in an excellent performance against us. We huffed and puffed as we looked to get the opening goal but Ex-Girlfriend stood firm and kept the game scoreless

The breakthrough finally came after 11 minutes when Lucy Copsey bagged her 39th goal of the season when debutant Nat knocked the ball down and Lucy fired home. Nat then made it 2 shortly after firing into the bottom corner and then she grabbed another when Lucy Copsey’s quick thinking from a kick in found Nat who despatched the ball into the back of the net with a great finish. Lucy Clark and Nat both struck the post and Maysa had a good shot saved after a great TRUK move and just before half time Maysa finished well to make it 4-0 at the break. At the other end Heather who started this week between the sticks made a great save and shortly after made an unbelievable save! A good Ex-Girlfriend move saw them hit the post with the ball rebounding to the same player who smashed the ball towards the goal…Heather somehow flung herself and managed to keep the ball out of the net for a brilliant save.

The 2nd half saw TRUK grab just the one goal but what a goal it was as Orlagh smashed home her first goal of the season to everyone’s delight. TRUK created plenty of chances but when they managed to hit the target the EX-Girlfriend GK who was in brilliant form kept TRUK at Bay. a 5-0 victory and a clean sheet was a nice way to end the season.
