After a long break TRUK returned to action to face the unbeaten Victoria Park Vixens who at times played TRUK off the park on their way to a 5-4 victory but had the referee given TRUK a stonewall last minute penalty we could have nicked an underserved point.

TRUK looked off the pace from the kick off as Vixens knocked the ball around with the returning Claire Green forced into a couple of early saves as TRUK just kept giving possession away leaving Vixens in some great positions to open the scoring which they duly did after 5 minutes when their number 22 smashed home from 10 yards out. TRUK however equalised straight away as Clark fed Copsey who finished well. Vixens then took the lead when Claire picked up a back pass from Orlagh and the penalty was smashed home but yet again TRUK equalised as Clark and Copsey linked up again with the latter making it 2-2. An excellent move from Vixens saw them take the lead again as they played a great 1-2 and smashed the ball home. Vixens then went looking for a 4th and after a couple of attempts they got it in bizarre circumstances as a weak shot from the half way line somehow slipped through Claire’s fingers and through her legs to dribble over the line and leave TRUK with a mountain to climb and give Vixens a deserved 2 goal advantage. The deficit was halved straight away though as Copsey broke through and smashed the ball home. H/T 3-4

Vixens started the 2nd half by far the better side and after a couple of chances that made it 5-3 with a great finish. Claire then made a couple of good saves with the 2nd one being costly to her on a personal basis as she smashed her head against the post and twisted her knee. This saw the end of her game and she was replaced between the sticks by Heather. Lucy Copsey then had an effort well saved but shortly after she grabbed a 4th goal for TRUK smashing home from close range. TRUK then went in search of an underserved equaliser. Lucy Copsey burst through and was cynically brought down when she would have been clean through, the referee failed to take any action on the culprit when it was definitely worthy of some sort of card. The resulting FK was blocked and went out for a throw. In the dying seconds Clark with her back to goal and inside the box was booted and then hauled down for a clear penalty. The referee blew his whistle and bizarrely gave a free kick outside the box a good 3 yards from where the offence took place and TRUK were denied a point.
