On Saturday we sent a team to Glasgow to play in the GFSN Tournament in which 5 players made their debut for TRUK. Playing against established sides it was always going to be an uphill task but we are so proud of our team and they really gave it their all despite only meeting an hour before kick off.
First up we met Cork Rebels and went down 5-2 with Olly and Oliver grabbing our goals before we met Soho FC who beat us 6-0. a 7 goal thriller saw us lose by the odd goal as Forza Leftfooters beat us 4-3 with Jack scoring a brace and Alex grabbing the other. Atlas then grabbed a brace as we lost 5-2 to Manchester Brewers before we went down 7-0 to Trowbridge Tigers and 6-0 to Mersey Marauders. Our final group game saw us lose 1-0 to Phoenix. We then met Cork Rebels in the Pot 5 semi final and produced a fantastic performance as we won 2-0 with goals from Abby and Oliver but we could not bring home a medal as Hotscots beat us 3-0 in the final.
The team had a great day however and we look forward to next years event in Cardiff.
