We travel to North London this Saturday for our GFSN Shield decider with everything still to play for and we could still end up in any of the 3 Shield competitions after Saturday and now we look at what can happen….At the end of the league phase the competition is split into 3 as below

Semi Finals (Home advantage to 1st and 2nd)
1st plays 4th
2nd plays 3rd
Two winners play the final (home advantage determined by a draw)
Shield 2
Semi Finals (Home advantage to 5th and 6th)
5th plays 8th
6th plays 7th
Two winners play the final (home advantage determined by a draw)
Shield 3
9th place gains a bye to the final
10th (home) plays 11th
Final (Home advantage determined by a draw)

If we win and Leicester beat Cardiff
We could finish 4th but this would depend on the goal swing! We would have to win by 4 clear goals and then hope Leicester beat Cardiff by a big score…however Leicester could still get 4th if they beat Cardiff and then win by 3 more clear goals than we do….confused!
If we win and Cardiff beat Leicester
Cardiff will finish either 1st or 2nd dependant on how many they win by. If we win by 4 clear goals we will finish 5th by 3 clear goals 6th and by 2 clear goals 7th unless we score more than 5 in which case we will finish 6th….
If we win and Cardiff and Leicester Draw
Cardiff will finish 4th… If we win by 4 clear goals we will finish 5th by 3 clear goals 6th and by 2 clear goals 7th unless we score more than 5 in which case we will finish 6th…
If we draw and Cardiff win
We will finish 8th
If we draw and Leicester win
We will finish 9th
If we draw and Cardiff and Leicester draw
We will finish 8th
If we lose and Cardiff win
We will finish 8th unless we lose by 2 more goals than Leicester lose which will leave us in 9th A defeat by more than 3 goals will see us finish 9th (10th if we lose by more than 2 than Leicester do) but a 12 goal defeat for us would see us finish 11th and travel to Swansea unless Leicester lose by 11 or more…
If we lose and Leicester win
We will finish 9th unless we lose by a 3 goal margin which could see us finish 10th if we do not score and a 12 goal margin could see us finish bottom unless we score 3.
