TRUK United put on a special performance against Brockwell Bullets with 5 a side debutant Lucy Copsey the star of the show scoring an amazing 9 goals as TRUK racked up an impressive 12-1 victory over Brockwell Bullets.
In a hectic opening minute and a half Brockwell had the first chance of the match when their forward shot just wide however within seconds TRUK took the lead when Lucy Clark took a quick kick in and put another debutant in the shape of Heather clean through and she opened her account to put TRUK one nil up after 39 seconds. From the kick off Lucy Copsey nicked the ball and put the ball into the bottom corner to give TRUK a 2 nil lead with just a minute on the clock! 30 seconds later and it was 3-0 as Heather made a challenge which saw the ball fall at the feet of Lucy Copsey who then played a great 1-2 with Heather before finishing well. Lucy Copsey then bagged her hattrick beating two players before smashing home to make it 4-0. Brockwell then pulled one back when TRUK failed to clear a throw in and the forward finished well. The two Lucy’s then combined playing a 1-2 with Lucy Copsey finishing well to make it 5-1. It was soon 6-1 as the two Lucy’s combined again with Lucy Copsey finishing well and shortly after it was 7-1 as Lucy Clark again worked well with Lucy Copsey to make it 7-1. Orlagh then found Maysa who smashed it into the top corner with possibly the goal of the game to make it 8-1. A good challenge by Orlagh saw the ball run through to Lucy Copsey who beat two players before making it 9-1 and another solo goal from Lucy Copsey saw TRUK rack up and incredible 10th goal just before half time.
TRUK took to the 2nd half hoping for much of the same but a spirited Brockwell only allowed them a further 2 goals with Maysa smashing one home to make it 11 and Heather’s clever back heel found Lucy Copsey who finished well to make it 12-1. Both teams created chances throughout the 2nd half with Claire Green making a couple of great saves as did the Brockwell Bullets keeper.
Credit must go to Brockwell Bullets whose heads never dropped and they battled to the end and were extremely sporting in defeat and showed the kind of togetherness that most clubs can only dream off.
