We played Brighton Blagss in an entertaining Pre Season Friendly on Sunday at the impressive Lancing FC with the match ending 4-4 which all those in attendance would agree was a fair result.
TRUK opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Quin volleyed home from the edge of the box with a fantastic strike which smashed into the back of the net. We then went 2-0 up with a 20 yard own goal which the Blagss keeper misjudged. Quick thinking from Nicky Currall saw us go 3-0 up as he smashed a free kick over the keeper from near the half way line for yet another spectacular goal. Blagss pulled one back with a good finish just before half time to set us up for an exciting 2nd half.
With the wind at their backs Blagss came flying out of the traps in the 2nd half and grabbed an early goal to make it 3-2, they continued to press and despite some good saves from Amelia they managed to draw level and then took the lead with a great move and finish. TRUK however were not to be out done and grabbed a late penalty when Paddy was pushed in the back following a long throw and he tucked the penalty away to make sure we shared the spoils.
TRUK fielded 23 players on the day with many making impressive debuts….the futures bright,….the futures TRUK!
