An excellent performance by TRUK saw us get the point needed to win the Goalposts league and we did it in style with a 5-3 victory over an excellent Victoria Park Vixens team.
it took us just 4 seconds to break the deadlock as Clark fed Copsey who finished well to put TRUK ahead although VPV were level shortly after as TRUK failed to close down their forward who finished well. TRUK were soon back ahead when Clark set up Copsey again who finished into the bottom corner and the lead was doubled minutes later when Clark rolled the ball into O’Driscoll’s path and she finished well. Orlagh then got her 2nd and TRUK’S 4th as Clark rolled the ball back to her and she smacked it into the bottom corner. An excellent goal from Vixens just before half time saw us go in at the break 4-2 ahead.
Heather who had been excellent in goal then assisted Copsey as she fired the ball into her and Copsey turned and smashed the ball home for her 30th of the season and the golden boot, Vixens pulled one back near the end with another excellent finish but it was just a consolation as TRUK saw the game out to win the league at our first attempt.
